A Carnival (Of Sorts)

Another Friday night. Another gig. A different bar. A different city. More self doubt and lots and lots of tinkering...

I had the pleasure of being able to play a birthday gig for some friends of mine in Dublin on Friday night. It was Michelle's 25th and we celebrated in Carnival. I had never been there before but I really enjoyed it. Good atmosphere - dark, dingy and grotty. The perfect compliment to quality tunes and lots of Heineken.

Like life, gigs are never long enough. You never get to play everything that you want to. You plan lots of different songs, different angles, different directions and you always have to stop too soon. There is always that one killer tune that you just don't have time to play. You are always begging, pleading for just 10 more minutes. Just one more song.
