A Dark Horse
The Irish general election campaign is well under way. The date for the next general election is 24 May, which was chosen when the current (29th) Dail was dissolved on 29 April.
The members of the 30th Dail will be elected by the public on 24 May and then convene on 14 June to elect the next Taoiseach.
While everyone is currently discussing Bertie Ahern's financial affairs, debating reasons behind the date that the election was called / campaign was commenced and arguing about what day of the week voting should take place, a new independent candidate has emerged - a dark horse...
